The
fifth instalment in the 3” series is a split-EP by electronic
artists Acute and De Pleted.
Acute
/ Undrey Schneider, one of the ak duck's key members,
and one of Israel’s most interesting and fertile electronic
artists in the past few years, has issued several exquisite
albums through Ak Duck, and through Pleasant Recordings
(which he founded).
During the past 4 years Acute has also contributed tracks to
Ak Duck and Fact Records compilations.
In his unique style, Acute combines classical and Baroque music
motifs, alongside electro and techno beats and real time manipulations.
The result is a smart, moving and danceable tunes.
During the past 4 years Acute performed extensively with his
material – documentation of his live performance (and
a live performance by The Models), which took place at the 2005
C-Side festival, released on a CD that was freely distributed
at the first “Live Electronix” event, which took
place this passing April in Jerusalem.
De
Pleted / Nir Segev, a Tel Aviv based electronic artist,
has been working for quite a few years, but was too shy to release
any of his materials. The first track he released was featured
on Ak Duck's third compilation album (Past, Present, Future)
last summer. A few months ago he released an album through the
experimental / techno label Teder. This album
was created in collaboration with Yonni Cohen,
and combines experimental electronics with various manipulations
of guitar playing.
The musical style that Segev creates in this current EP is more
melodic and funky, and is influenced by the early 90's pioneers
of electronics (Aphex, Autechre, Boards of Canada and more…)
This
split-EP is a minimalist and melodic experience, the kind you
enjoy listening to in the club as well as at home.
